COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will explore the biblical and historical foundations of Christian worship, from the Old Testament to the New Testament, and beyond, from the early church to present day. An overview of worship strategies, origins and practices of congregational worship will be examined. The goal is for students to be worshippers equipped with a foundation for present and future ministry.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
-   Understand and articulate key principles of worship in the Old and New Testaments
-   Learn major themes found in historical worship practices from the early church to today
-   Articulate the need and significance of biblically and historically based worship theology in today’s church
-   Apply biblical and historical principles to his or her personal and corporate worship practices

4. New Testament Worship
5. Psalms
6. History of Church Worship: Early Church, Middle Ages, Reformation
7. Worship Origins: Eucharist, Baptisms, Feast, Fasts, Festivals
8. Worship Origins: Sabbath, Sunday, Easter, Lent, Holy Week, Christmas
9. The Practice of Worship: Signs, Symbols, Art, Visuals
10.  Service Study: Cultures, denominations
11.  The Worship Leader: Singing, Liturgy, Justice, Head vs. Heart
12.  Practical Implementation: Project performance
13. Practical Implementation: Project performance
14.  Exam
